SPACE Prize 2018 Finalists
We are thrilled to announce that The Big Year is a finalist for the 2018 SPACE (Small Press Alternative Comics Expo) Prize in the graphic novel category and Glimpses of Life #3-5 are finalists for the general category.
Derek and I are truly honored to have made it to the finals again this year. I’m especially excited that my graphic novel, The Big Year made the cut.
The Big Year is my follow up to Fear of Flying and is a collection of my daily journal comics from January 2015 to March 2016 that chronicles the next big chapter in my life and just about every major event in adulthood (buying a house, marriage, and having a baby).
Glimpses of Life, issues 3 and 4 continue where The Big Year leaves off and is all about life with a newborn. Issue 5 is dedicated to short comics about cats and how they are jerks.
The winners will be announced during SPACE 2019 on Saturday, April 27th. SPACE is easily one of our favorite comic conventions to attend and if you live near Columbus, OH and haven’t checked it out yet you’re missing out. It’s a great convention filled to the brim with awesome indie and small press comics. SPACE is a free two day event that’s held on April 28th and 29th this year.
Don’t miss out on all the great comics at SPACE. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for us.
