Why I Do It

The greatest comment I’ve ever received for these comics was “Thank you for being so honest.” It made me think of the reason I wanted to originally be a filmmaker. I am very shy but desperately want to connect with people, so making something personal and putting it out there always seemed like the best way to try to find like-minded people.
This is my first attempt at writing out the captions in a journal comic by hand. Hopefully it’s legible.
Also, you may notice I forgot to draw my beard in the second panel. The next to last panel is a reference to “Clark Gable” by The Postal Service.
Sometimes I wonder why, too. We’re not alone.
