My window is a night club, the hottest spot in town. Maybe I should get a bouncer to keep the riff-raff out.

This is another excerpt from my daily journal, it happened back in May. I was having a very long day and was just in a crummy mood, so naturally I got stuck in traffic on the way to visit Amy and Kayla. Nothing makes a bad day better than sitting in traffic, especially if it’s not moving at all. It turned out the police and paramedics had actually closed down the entire freeway. Once I had given up and made my way to the off ramp I saw why, it was a six car accident with a lot of people seriously hurt. I instantly felt bad that I was getting so angry about the traffic.
Your day could always be worse. It’s all a matter of perspective.
So many big things have happened this year. I’m glad I decided to do a daily journal to capture these random moments and thoughts.
Truth be told, I’ve always wondered what was inside a stress ball… turns out it’s disgusting. Another mystery solved!
This is another journal comic excerpt, this one dates back to January but it’s a feeling I’ve felt a lot over the last several years of posting webcomics (and printing comics in general). As an independent publisher and creator, sometimes making comics feels an awful lot like yelling into the void. I don’t know, I’m pretty sure I was depressed when I made this comic. It’s been a hectic and stressful year thus far.
I guess it comes down to this, the void can feel lonely sometimes but, it’s filled with possibilities too.
Getting old is weird… hair just keeps growing and growing.
In other news, unrelated to this comic, today I’m getting married the woman of my dreams! A lot of big life changing events have been happening this year, it’s pretty exciting. I’ll be continuing to post journal comics for the next few weeks as Amy and I go off on our honeymoon. Hope you’re enjoying them.
So for those of you who don’t know, I’m getting married. In fact, I’m getting married really soon which is why I’ve started posting these excerpts from my journal because wedding planning and getting everything ready has started to consume much of my free time as of late. Which brings me to my next point, weddings are a racket. Ever since Amy and I started planning our wedding it seems like every one has tried to bleed ever dime they can from us. This comic illustrates one such experience but, there have been many more through this process.
It’s time to face facts, weddings are big business.
This excerpt from my journal was made back in February. Around this time I had just bought my first house with my fiance and was in the heart of wedding planning. Needless to say, I was stressed and burning myself out. I’ve always found drawing comics to be a very meditative and relaxing act and, truth be told, I remember feeling better once I got these feelings down on paper.
It’s always important to take a breath every once in a while.
