Still Trading Beads
For today’s comic I decided to do another style experiment and used the style of John McNamee’s Pie Comics. Pie Comics is hilarious and, for those of you who haven’t read it, it’s definitely worth checking out. Beyond that, this comic is a rare political one. It’s not something Derek and I do all that often on the site. The elections are coming up, scary times.
One of these days we’re going to learn… I hope.
Democracy is a buffet
Democracy, when it really works, should be like a buffet. You don’t have to focus on just the salad and the mashed potatoes. There’s pizza, sliced turkey, a pasta section, some unidentifiable rice dish, corn sometimes and at the really good buffets, a chocolate fountain. Ideally, there is something for everyone.
Doomsbury: An Attempt at Political Humor
Biting political satire works best when it is pointed and laser focused. This comic is just all over the place and throws out buzzwords.
That being said, it was between this or going with Speaker Boner, and drawing a talking penis. I went with the classier of of the two.
Also, that’s a pretty accurate caricature of aide Mike Sommers. Do a Google search.

For some reason people lined up for over 12 hours outside of a store to get an autographed copy of a book this clown wrote about his father. I just needed to vent.
